Hoxton Press September Newsletter
Welcome to the latest edition of The Anthology, providing our neighbours with helpful information and updates for our Hoxton Press Project, on Bridport Place and Penn Street.
We have been very busy on site since June, with both towers making noticeable progress externally and internally.
Recently, we completed Duo’s superstructure. The windows are following closely behind, currently being installed on the penultimate floor. Mono is built up to the 18th with the windows up to the 11th floor. The brickwork continues to progress well on both towers with several floors now fully complete.
On September 14th We had our ‘Topping Out’ ceremony with Hackney, CETRA, Wates. The afternoon included speeches from Anthology MD Mark Dickinson and Hackney Mayor Philip Glanville. It was also an opportunity to highlight our local and unsung heroes.
In conjunction with Wates and Higgins, Anthology took part in a number of Kayak races on 22nd September. In a hard fought competition, Wates turned out as worthy winners. More importantly, the event raised £2000 for local charity, Mind In The City, Hackney and Waltham Forest. Mind is a worthy cause that gives support to those suffering from mental health issues in the local area.
Our little library continues to be very popular with book exchanges a daily occurrence. It has become a frequent stop off for students of Shoreditch Park Primary now term time has commenced!
