When married couple, Philipp (32) and Steffi Fehre (31) went hunting for Pokémon, little did they know this would lead them to their dream home.

The couple, originally from Germany, took to the streets of Hoxton in a bid to ‘catch ‘em all’ and on their hunt stumbled upon Anthology’s new development, Hoxton Press, nestled in the heart of Hoxton on Penn Street.

The Fehre’s, currently renting in Islington, were thrilled to find their first family home in an area they love, and as a bonus, by pure accident. New buyer, Philipp who is a Senior Software Engineer at Deliveroo, said: “Steffi and I didn’t think we’d find our new home that day, we were walking past the development and decided to have a look…and next thing we knew, we’d purchased a one bed apartment in our ideal location!”

Steffi who works at Lidl as Senior Packaging and Design Coordinator added: “The Hoxton Press show apartment is the only home we’ve looked around but as soon as we walked in we knew it was the one for us.

“We love the modern style of the apartments and every detail from the high ceilings, the floor to ceiling windows and the balcony has been thought-out creating a lovely sunny and light filled home. Something we’ve always looked for.”

Since moving to London in 2014, the couple have lived in Islington and hoped to stay as close as possible to the area. The Hoxton Press development ticks all the boxes for them especially being located at the edge of Shoreditch Park.

The pair love the thought of being close to open green space yet still being near to the city. With Hoxton being on the boarders of zones one and two as well as the development being just a short walk from a number of tube stations, Hoxton Press fitted the brief.

He continued: “I have a passion for food so being close to a foodie hub like Shoreditch is a real plus for me yet we’ll still be close enough to Islington to enjoy finer dinning when we fancy treating ourselves.

“The open space is such a plus for Steffi too, as she loves running and now she can enjoy her runs along the Regents Canal or Shoreditch Park.”

Both Phillipp and Steffi see the purchase of their new apartment not only as their first home but also a great investment in an area that is continuing to evolve:

“The ongoing investments in Hoxton has allowed us to purchase a home in our perfect location. We’ve had a great response from family and friends and we can’t wait to have them round for dinner on our balcony!

“The views of London from our new home are incredible and were a real selling point for us. The thought of being able to snuggle up and watch the New Year’s fireworks from the comfort of our home brings us real joy!”

The couple went to find Pokémon and found an even better prize, you could say they did catch ‘em all!

Steffi added: “We’d been contemplating purchasing our first home, but had made no concrete plans. Coming across Hoxton Press changed that, and now we’re looking forward to moving into our home in 2018.”

The new homes at Hoxton Press forms the third phase of Hackney Council’s ongoing regeneration of the Colville Estate on Penn Street (N1 5DS). The 16 and 20 storey towers will provide a mix of one, two and three bedroom homes. Prices start from £615,000*.
