Statement in response to Anthology’s planning application being submitted for the Kennington Stage development:

“Anthology has submitted a planning application to the London Borough of Lambeth for the redevelopment of the former Woodlands and Masters House site, off Dugard Way in Kennington, (SE11 4TH).

“This application follows a 12-month consultation with the local community and other stakeholders including a Planning Performance Agreement (PPA) with the Local Authority. The application proposes the creation of 258 new homes, comprising 50% affordable housing, within a 29 storey building and a lower building of 3 to 4 storeys.

“It is important to Anthology that this project enhances the local community and the heritage of the local area. Recognising that the Cinema Museum is an important community asset, Anthology is working closely with the museum to secure their long-term future in Masters House and plan for growth.

“The timing of this submission complies with contractual and planning agreements and does not prevent continued and open discussions from taking place with Lambeth Council. Anthology intends to continue this engagement to seek to address any outstanding concerns.

“Once the planning application has been validated Lambeth Council will invite comments from local residents and other stakeholders on these plans as part of the consultation process.”
