Deptford’s vibrant and eclectic high street is gradually coming alive again following the announcement that more businesses and venues could reopen. For now, it is mostly restaurants, pubs and hairdressers so here are some of our Deptford favourites where you will be able to go to sort those lockdown locks before a few socially distanced drinks:

The best way to start the day

At Isla Ray you can choose from a delicious selection of breakfasts, our favourite is the Isla Special, the sriracha crème fraiche is incredible. The popular Deptford eatery is opening again from 8 July and it’ll be back better than ever! The restaurant will have limited space so if you want to treat yourself for getting through lockdown then book now and reserve a table by emailing hello@islaray.co.uk.

Food, glorious food

More great news for food lovers as The Tapas Room, where you can enjoy a tasty selection of tapas and wine is reopening too. What a lovely prospect, to have someone else cook a delicious tapas dinner for you. There will be reduced capacity, but all the usual delectable treats will be available. They will be open every Wednesday - 5pm-10.30pm, Thursday - Saturday 12pm-10.30pm and remember last orders for food is 9.30pm. It’s advisable to book here too which you can do via their Website

Short back and sides anyone?

The Box, in Deptford Market Yard, has been eagerly getting ready for their big reopening. For those who have attempted their own lockdown haircuts, this is fantastic news. The salon has taken over an extra arch to meet Covid 19 safety guidelines and to make sure that there is plenty of space to create a relaxing and enjoyable experience with no more than two or three guests per Arch. You can book now and look forward to getting your locks back in to shape!

Cocktails Galore

Deptford’s go to cocktail bar Little Nan’s has been keeping its customers going throughout lockdown with their amazing Locktail delivery service. Now Little Nan’s is ready for its outside service! You will be able to hear them when they call your name to pick up your takeaway. Open from midday to midnight. As well as cocktails there will be draft beers, wine, spirits and much more!

The ultimate drive in cinema experience

While traditional cinemas still have to remain closed for the time being, drive in cinema’s are popping up all over the capital to offer film goers a fun and safe movie watching experience from the comfort of their own car. Luna Drive in Cinema will be showing a selection of films, old and new, including Cool Runnings and Rocketman, and some sing – along favourites like Grease at London Printworks, just across the River from Deptford in Canada Water. There will also be a selection of comfort food and drink available to order from your phone to be brought to your car. We love it!
