New Year, New You in Tottenham Hale

Whilst we find ourselves in another lockdown, it important to try and remain positive during these testing times. Wander around the Wetlands

If you’re looking to up your steps this year then Walthamstow Wetlands is London’s largest wetlands, comprising 211 hectares and offers the perfect place to explore on foot. There are 10 reservoirs, each offering a home to a variety of wildfowl, such as pochard and gadwall, as well as heron, ducks and fish. In the woodland areas, visitors can also be lucky enough to spot red foxes, wood mice and bank voles. There are a number of walking trails within the Wetlands, so your daily outdoor exercise will never be boring!  

Buy a beer

Located within walking distance of Hale Works are some of London’s best craft breweries. Arguably the most famous is Beavertown, known for its strong IPAs in colourful packaging, who could be the saviour for all those tackling Dry January with plenty of non-alcoholic options available. Although Beavertown’s taproom is currently closed, craft beer aficionados can also get their fix by ordering cases from the website as well as pint glasses and other merchandise.

Home makeover

A new year calls for a fresh start so why not spruce up your home? As we spend more time at home, now is the perfect opportunity to tick off your DYI list. Whether that is painting a statement wall or taking on an upcycling project to freshen up your surrounds. You can also simply buy some scented candles and fluffy blankets to change up your look and to create a cosy, relaxing sanctuary. Both B&Q and Ikea are nearby to Tottenham Hale and remaining open throughout lockdown.
