The benefits of having outdoor space are well known and just a view of nature can lift our spirits. It is no surprise that a lack of outdoor space came out as the top lockdown frustration in a survey we recently ran at Lifestory.
We do everything we can to recognise the importance of outdoor space, whether its finding your perfect first home or embracing the concept of downsizing to a more manageable and convenient home, the outdoor landscape is viewed as being just as vital as the architectural design of the buildings.
There is an abundance of outdoor areas throughout our developments. Even in the centre of London, we aim to incorporate access to the outdoors as much as possible. Many of our homes offer a balcony or terrace to create the perfect city garden sanctuary, with a view, while wider green and blue space is never far.
Owners at Anthology Hoxton Press, like Jenny, enjoy having Shoreditch Park and the Regents Canal on their doorstep. Anthology Wembley Parade, located in leafy North West London, offers a beautiful ground floor communal garden. Anthology Stratford Mill, in the former industrial East, incorporates perfectly the blue and green space of the Olympic Park next to the development.
Pegasus Life’s The Chimes, in the middle of Westminster, or No 79 Fitzjohn’s in Hampstead both offer their owners the choice of a peaceful courtyard gardens as well as some of London’s most famous outside spaces, like St James’s Park and Hampstead Heath, a stone’s throw away.
Across the country our portfolio of Pegasus Life and Renaissance Retirement developments are designed around the most beautiful outdoor spaces to encourage wellness and wellbeing so that owners can spend time in the nature so beneficial to both physical and mental health, especially in older age.
At Steepleton in Tetbury owners can make the most of wonderful communal gardens incorporating an aquagarden and swimming pond or tend to their runner beans as owner Harold Porter does on his private terrace. The Vincent, in Bristol has a lovely landscaped garden which includes a small arboretum, the perfect place to relax in nature. Wildernesse House, near Sevenoaks, sits in its own splendid park of 24 acres with a rose garden and kitchen garden. Fleur-de-Lis Sandhurst and Poole both benefit from beautifully landscaped gardens
At Lifestory, we see home as a sanctuary that is happy, comforting and uplifting and moving to one of our homes will not mean sacrificing space outdoors. Careful consideration of this element is found in our six principles of design and at all our developments for the long-term benefit of our owners.
