Anthology Hale Works is our sleek and stylish collection of new homes in the heart of Tottenham Hale. Upon visiting the neighbourhood you can expect to experience a true community feel and one such place that’s popular with locals is Table13, a café located inside The Engine Room community centre.

We caught up with Federico Viciani, founder and owner of Table13, to find out more about the successful café and what diners can enjoy.

Hi Federico, can you tell us about Table13 and how it started?

I’ve worked in the hospitality industry for around 10 years, most recently at wine bar, Vinoteca as their Operations Manager. I’ve always wanted to start a business of my own and opened Table13 in October last year – during the pandemic! We started by doing takeaway options but now operate as a café and wine and deli shop. We’re now a team of seven who are all driven by the same passion and love for good food, coffee and wine.

What’s on the menu?

The main offerings at Table13 are coffee, bread and wine. It’s simple, but we focus on using high quality ingredients to offer great food in a relaxed setting.

We’re known primarily for our focaccia which is baked fresh every day. Our Chef, Sofia De Angelis, has worked around the world including in Rome, Dubai and Paris, and is highly skilled in creating the most delicious pastries.

How do you work with the community?

We try to use local suppliers for all of our products where possible. Our coffee is from Terrone & Co and we stock beer from local breweries such as Beavertown, ORA and Pressure Drop. We use a number of different suppliers for our wine but they are all based in London.

I’m passionate about art and chose two local artists to adorn the walls at Table13. Albert Clegg designed an abstract mural inspired by coffee, bread and wine and Joanna Pilarczyk has created portraits of local people in Tottenham. She also holds art classes at The Engine Room for those who would like to try it for themselves!

What else are you working on?

We’re launching our new wine bar at the end of September which is really exciting. At the moment we close at 3.30pm Monday – Saturday but our hours will be open later so guests can relax with a tasty glass of wine at the end of a long day. We’ll be serving a selection of red, white and rose from around the world so watch this space!
